Ellen Alper currently serves as the Executive Director of NCJW – St. Louis Section. She has over 35 years’ experience in non-profit management and advocacy work. Professional experience includes working for a national organization as their Executive Director and leadership consultant, and at a local trade association as their lobbyist, PR & Marketing Director and Assistant Executive Director. Ellen began her career as a Staff Assistant in the Carter White House, working on judicial and political appointments. She is a volunteer in her community and was a CORO Fellow in Public Affairs. A graduate of Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University, she is married to Steve and has three grown daughters.
Ellen has overseen the operations of the NCJW St. Louis office and Resale Shop for the past 11+ years, managing growth, a move to the new building, and doubling net profits of the Shop during that time.
