Janell is a national political reporter for The Washington Post. She writes, primarily, about race, gender and immigration issues in the 2016 election. Previously, she has covered a range of social issues including race, politics, poverty, immigration and labor for The National Journal, The Atlantic, The New Republic, The Huffington Post, The Tennessean, The News & Observer, and the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. She is a graduate of Vassar College and earned a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
