At Washington Institute 2016, NCJW’s Woman Who Dared Award will be presented to Susie Gelman, known for her groundbreaking advocacy to raise awareness about civil society issues in Israel.

The Woman Who Dared Award is presented to women who embody the courageous spirit that has been the hallmark of NCJW since its founding in 1893 ― a woman who is a pioneer in advancing social change for women and families.
Past recipients of this special award include MSNBC commentator Melissa Harris-Perry; The Honorable Nancy Pelosi with her daughter Alexandra Pelosi; Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards; women’s health champion Dr. Susan Wood; The Honorable Judge Frederica Brenneman with her daughter Amy Brenneman; Former ACLU President Nadine Strossen; civil and women’s rights activist Dr. Dorothy Height, and Rep. Jan Schakowsky.
